CampFest

CampFest 2013 Information will be uploaded SOON!!

CampFest 2012 will be the 6th Camp we have run for Australian Homeschoolers. The joy and satisfaction we get from providing this event to Australian Homeschoolers is immeasurable.

My aim with CampFest is to create a National, Annual Event in Australia that will meet the needs of ALL Home Schooling Families. The Festival is an opportunity to showcase the talent, skills, interests and passions of our Home Schooling Community.

My intent is to promote and foster the skills, interests and knowledge of our National Home Educating Community, and allow the passion of this information to reach as many Home Schoolers as possible. At its heart, I believe that Home Schooling is a lifestyle, chosen by families for the enrichment of the entire family.

CampFest is eagerly awaited each year by many families and bookings come in quick and fast as soon as I get the next year ready for the bookings.

CampFest includes a full parent session program with something for everyone: getting started information for families just embarking on this wonderful adventure; conversation circles for parents wanting advice, ideas or support for various home educating and parenting issues; late night chats that take in the broader picture of home education plus free individual sessions with Beverley Paine from Homeschool Australia and author of Getting Started with Homeschooling and the Practical Homeschool Series of booklets.

For the children, supervised morning activities by qualified leaders include a range of cooperative team challenges to extend children's physical and social skills. Afternoons are set aside for family fun - bring an activity to share with others! Previous years have included beading, soap carving, electronics, origami, hula hoop making, tennis, table tennis, yoga, belly dancing, water testing, chess and more!

All children will also be able to participate in a First Aid Awareness Course., The course is presented by CPR Help.

The CPR HELP program offers children a fun and rewarding experience. The program consists of music, role plays and hands on experience of the recovery position, manipulation of manikins along with challenging verbal discussions to enhance the use of ‘000’ and their home details. We believe by educating our future this will equip the children with confidence and the ability in an emergency situation.

The CPR HELP program will improve children’s awareness and the use of the DRSABCD management. This vital information needs to be communicated and understood which will give children valuable life skills. By educating all children this could save lives in their home environment and community. The more often CPR skills are taught the better they are retained.

Evening activities include a concert, dance, quiz night, star gazing with AWAS (weather permitting) and movies as well as the Late Night Chat series for the night owls!
